This is Gloucestershire -- The Gate Streets in the city were brought to life as families enjoyed last minute shopping at the Xmas Stocking Filler Market this evening. The event, which was organised by Gloucester City Centre Community Partnership, saw visitors enjoy entertainment including a fairground organ, a festive stilt walker and live music from Velvet Love and the Memphis On. More than 40 stalls lined the streets selling homemade jam, unique gifts, candy floss, festive clothing, cupcakes and much more. Stall holder Lisa Thorne said: "There had been a great atmosphere here during the evening. It felt very festive in the city with lots of people shopping. The children really seemed to enjoy the fairground organ. "My stall had different homemade craft gifts. There is only days left until Christmas but I still have a lot to do."Gill Wheeler from the Country Market was selling homemade jam this evening. She said: "We had many people buying jam but we also had handcraft items which were popular with customers too. The Country Market is held in Northgate Hall on Thursday morning." Visitor Christine Smith said: "It was a nice event but not very busy but I think it was the weather, which put people off. It would have been better if it was held in Kings Square."
